Yoruba Council Stand In Solidarity With Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth President, Calls On DG DSS, IGP For Full Security Survellance.
The apex umbrella body for all Yoruba indigenous youth groups; Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide is aghast to learn that the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike is under intense life threatening violent attacks and threat to his life days after he congratulated President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
We are full of confidence that Nigeria's Democracy have come to stay, hence the need for all of us beyond ethnic differences must unite and condemn the dangerous perversive ethnic bigotry and embers of hatred being promoted by some agent provocateurs in some sections of Nigeria, wherein such "gangs of terror" are hellbent to cause monumental havocs and promote disunity in Nigeria.
We equally aligned ourselves in solidarity with Mazi Okwu's earlier stands and his congratulatory statement in support of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while urging aggrieved parties to allow the court to decide the matter one way or the other without prejudice.
Since the 2023 election time was over, precipitating healing process and governance to begin in earnest.
Regrettably, we are aghast to learn that Mazi Okwu has come under severe threat of imminent execution of his life by those perceived to be promoting the Labour Party's Presidential candidate Peter Obi led Obidient movement and other Igbo leaders after congratulating the President-elect.
We by this singular reason appeal to our referred Royal Fathers led by His Imperial Majesty, Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR Ojaja 11, Ooni of Ife being father to Nigerian youths irrespective of ethnic and religious colouration to help call on President Muhammadu Buhari to alert the Inspector General of Police and Director General of the DSS to arrest the purveyors of this ill-motivated evil actions, while ensuring adequate security survellance and protection of Mazi Okwu Nnabuike's life and that of his family from these political vampires and ethnic war mongers.
We jointly reiterate that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is the President-elect and will be inaugurated on May 29, 2023.
We implore that since the aggrieved parties are in court and until the petitions are decided, we all have to support Asiwaju Tinubu to move the country forward premised on his positive vision of a renewed hope.
We salute Mazi Okwu's sagacity and undeterred commitments towards the unity, progress and development of one Nigeria.
Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Aare Oba Oladotun Hassan, President General, Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide.
