The supreme court has dismissed the suit seeking the disqualification of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A five-member panel of the supreme court held on Friday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lacked the locus standi to institute the suit. The panel said the PDP is not a member of the APC. The PDP had claimed that Shettima’s nomination as Tinubu’s running mate was in breach of the provisions of sections 29(1), 33, 35, and 84(1)(2) of the Electoral Act, 2022. The opposition party argued that Shettima’s nomination to contest the position of vice-president and Borno central senatorial seat — at the same time — contravened the law.

He won the merit award, out of the 774 LGAs in Nigeria and 20 LGAs in Ogun State based on his outstanding performance over a year in office. Hon. FG To Begin Home Delivery Of Passports Soon – Aregbesola

The Federal Government has promised to conclude negotiations with NIPOST on the usage of its speedy mail service to start delivering passports to Nigerians who opt for such a service. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, disclosed this while speaking at the opening of the Nigeria Immigration Service Passport Front Desk Office in Auchi, Edo State, on Saturday, 20th May 2023. “We are in the final stage of concluding negotiations with NIPOST to begin using its speed mail service to deliver passports to Nigerians wherever they are in the world after production,” the Minister disclosed. According to a statement by Sola Fasure, Media Adviser to the Minister, the launch of an additional Passport Front Office in Auchi, Edo State, was part of the government’s effort towards effective service delivery to Nigerians. NNPC To Supply 300,000 Barrels Of Crude To Dangote Refinery

The Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited says it is set to supply 300,000 barrels of crude oil to Dangote Refinery. Mele Kyari, NNPC’s group chief executive officer (GCEO), NNPC, spoke on Thursday at the Nigeria oil and gas opportunity fair. The event was held at the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) conference centre in Bayelsa state. The Dangote Refinery, a 650,000 barrels per day integrated refinery project, is scheduled to be inaugurated on May 22, 2023. “The NNPC saw the strategic interest of doing business, and we will be supplying 300,000 barrels of Nigerian crude to Dangote Refinery from NNPC. That is a marketing opportunity,” Kyari said. Meanwhile, the NNPC GCEO said Nigeria must focus on gas production, adding that the country must begin to expand its gas footprint. Project refund: I owe you nothing - Tinubu tells Governor Wike

The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has rejected the request made by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for a refund for the construction of some federal roads in the state.  Governor Wike invited Tinubu to his state to commission a road project in the state today, May 3.  During the commissioning, Governor Wike mentioned that the road project along with many others he has embarked upon is the responsibility of the Federal government and that it will be a good thing if upon assuming office, Tinubu refunds the money used to construct the road to the Rivers state government. “Unfortunately too, these projects ought to be Federal Government projects because they are federal roads.
