APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru Hosts Osun Restoration Forum … Berates Aregbesola for floating fresh anti-party group
Osun Restoration Forum, a political group within the Osun All Progressive Congress, has met with the Party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, to felicitate with him on his appointment as the National Secretary of the APC.
The group chairman, Hon. Abubakar Lukman, during a courtesy visit at the National Secretary’s office in Abuja, appreciated the Osogbo-born lawyer and former Attorney General of the state on his commitment and dedication to the party and for always making sure the party in the state and at the national level is at the front-line.
Lukman stated that it was imperative to form the group shortly after the last gubernatorial election to mend the broken fence and rebuild the party to get the party ready for future elections to reclaim the mandate lost to the opposition.
He spoke about the challenges facing the party members, especially in the Ijesha axis, as many were attacked and killed during the last election.
In his remarks, another executive of the group, Hon. Akinloye Johnson, expressed his appreciation to the National Secretary for his contributions towards human development and the party.
He called on him to use his office to galvanise support for the party across the state.
In the words of former commissioner of works and transport in the state, Engr Olufemi Omowaiye, the new party’s scribe is a pride to Osun State and members of the party would always support him to succeed in his assignments.
In his reaction, Senator Basiru expressed his appreciation to God for bestowing the grace to become the National Secretary and all the party leaders especially President Bola Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande.
According to Basiru, “I am happy a group like this can come up with the aims of working towards reclaiming the mandate.”
He charged members of the Forum to return to base and work from the wards to reignite the passion of the party faithful.
Basiru wanted the group to identify opinion moulders in each ward and work with them for the success of the party in future electoral outings.
Meanwhile, the Senator used the occasion to berate the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State over his poor attitude to governance and non-challenge disposition to the well-being of the people of the state.
Similarly, he lambasted the former governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and other characters behind the formation of the Omoluabi Progressives, describing them as hypocrites who worked against the interests of the party in the last elections.
He cautioned the promoters of the Omoluabi Progressives to never overestimate their influence as they would not succeed in their game of balkanizing the party because the party under the chairmanship of Sooko Tajudeen Lawal in the state is strong and working towards the goal of actualizing the dreams of the founding fathers and the developmental agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
