As an advocate of youth re-orientation, engagement and development, Comr. Lamide Lawal honoured the invitation of Ogun State Chapter of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) advisory council lecture series, for tertiary educational institutions in the State, with the theme: Dangers of illicit drugs and excessive alcohol. Addressing thousands of students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, he charged them to be agents of impactful positive change and advocates of campaign against drug abuse in the society.  Additionally, he used the medium to admonish the students, to be of good conduct and stay away from drug abuse, as the negative effects of these hard drugs on the young ones are so evident in the society. BREAKING: Appeal Court affirms Abiodun’s election

The Appeal Court Lagos Division on Friday in a split decision, affirmed the re-election of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the March 18, 2023, governorship election as the duly elected governor of Ogun State. The majority judgment delivered by Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party candidate Ladi Adebutu in the 2023 governorship election. However, the minority judgment delivered by Justice Jane Esienanwan Inyang allowed the appeal and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.

Abiodun Mourns Loss of Former Finance Minister Soleye, Says He Was a Statesman

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Wednesday described the passing of former Finance Minister, Dr. Onaolapo Soleye as a great loss to Ogun State and Nigeria at large. Dr. Soneye was a former minister of finance between 1984-1985 during the military regime of General Muhammadu Buhari. He served for twenty (20) months as Minister of Finance. At a time, he also served as Commissioner for Finance and Industry in Ogun State.  His death was announced in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday by his family. Daniel flags off training for rice farmers, says Tinubu 'll revamp agriculture

Ogun State Governor and Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the resounding victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday's governorship election in Kogi State as the affirmation of the confidence Nigerians have in the ability of the ruling party to extricate Nigeria from the current economic woes. The APC governorship candidate, Usman Ododo emerged winner of the Kogi governorship election with 446,237 votes to beat Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who polled 259,052 votes to come second. The win followed the earlier one in Imo State, where Governor Hope Uzodinma, also of the APC was declared the winner of Saturday's election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
