As an advocate of youth re-orientation, engagement and development, Comr. Lamide Lawal honoured the invitation of Ogun State Chapter of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) advisory council lecture series, for tertiary educational institutions in the State, with the theme: Dangers of illicit drugs and excessive alcohol.
Addressing thousands of students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, he charged them to be agents of impactful positive change and advocates of campaign against drug abuse in the society.
Additionally, he used the medium to admonish the students, to be of good conduct and stay away from drug abuse, as the negative effects of these hard drugs on the young ones are so evident in the society. In fact, it is disheartening to know, that we have lost more youths to the cold hands of death and mental illness, due to the use of illicit drugs and excessive intake of alcohol.
As such, he urged them to ensure that they spread this information to those around them and others in their various community.
His sincere appreciation to the State Commander of the FRSC, Mr Anthony Uga, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), for bringing up this great initiative, as a preventive measure, to reduce and control the use of illicit drugs and to as well, re-orientate our youth to be more responsible and focused on academics and other great spheres of life.
