Dr. Olayinka Alausa, Founder Omo Alausa Foundation CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, CHERISHES THEIR EXISTENCE IN OUR MIDST.
“Concentrate on the abilities your disability doesn't hinder and don't dwell on the things it interferes with. Be disabled physically, not in spirit” - Stephen Hawking.
Harping on the Stephen Hawking's quote above, the Founder of Omo Alausa Foundation Dr. Olayinka Alausa and on behalf of the entire populace of Omo Alausa Foundation, we join the world to celebrate our special ones on this year International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Since the proclamation in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly in resolution, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) has been celebrated annually on 3rd of December around the world.
Omo Alausa Foundation also join host of other states and communities to observe this day (IDPD), to promote an understanding of disability issues and to mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
The theme for the IDPD this year is; “United in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs for, with and by persons with disabilities”.
"As a father for all, I wish to seek the unrelenting efforts of all critical stakeholders across the globe; Our local governments in Lagos state, member of states across the world, the United Nations system, civil society and the global community of persons with disabilities, through enhanced actions and International cooperation, to make the SDGs a reality for, with and by persons with disabilities, and as an NGO, we would also continue to do our best in making our special ones feel better in their various space. We love you all"
