IKENNE LOCAl GOVERNMENT CELEBRATE YEAR 2023 CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE IN GRAND STYLE.

It was a joyous moment as the entire staff of Ikenne Local Government was full of joy and jubilation in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and reading of seven lessons to appreciate God's faithfulness in their life on Wednesday, 20th December, 2023 held at the Local Government Secretariat.


The Executive Chairman Ikenne Local Government, Honourable Olusegun Ogunleye thanked God for the gift of life to witness another yuletide season and the grace to be a partaker in this year's Christmas carol despite all the challenges and economic crises in the country.

In his keynote address, he appreciated the amiable Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, CON, a pragmatic and visionary leader,who has created an enabling environment for us to thrive in the Gateway State. He expatiated the word Christmas as a period when Jesus came to the world, a season of love, compassion, giving and goodwill. it is a time which reflect on the values that bind us together as employees of Local Government Service. He implored the staffs to show happiness and love to each other throughout this season. He then wishes everyone present a merry Christmas and happy new year in advance.

Canon. M.O Odewole from Memorial Anglican Church, Ikenne, admonished everyone present at the occasion with his sermon, theme: significance of Christmas and the Bible text was taken from the Book of Isaiah, He stated that Jesus came to the world to die for us in order to have everlasting life. Christmas reveals the light of the world. Therefore, light is very important in christian race in this world.

To grace the occasion, the christian fellowship choir rendered series of carol songs, reading of seven bible lessons led by the Executive Chairman and presentation of Drama

Pastor Olalekan Adebanjo, pastor in charge of the Christian fellowship Ikenne Local Government, on behalf of the committee members and entire staff appreciated God Almighty, the Executive Chairman and his team and the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) Ikenne Local Government for their support towards the success of this year's Christmas carol.

Present at the celebration were: the Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs Bolanle Fakoya, the secretary to the Local Government, Mr Rotimi Osinowo, The Head of Local Government Administration, Mr Rufus Olaleye, all Directors and Head of Departments.
