Dr. Betta Edu while in active service displayed high degree of commitment to the services of humanity- Engr. Ubong Idemudo

Dr. Betta Edu while in active service displayed high degree of commitment to the services of humanity as was witnessed by the extent of the interior and very tough terrains she went to give hope to the poor and downtrodden needy families in the entire country.

Members of APC-PPR (a group then known and call APC-PYR) were her greatest fans.

With the turn of events following her indictment on issues bordering on corruption, and her subsequent suspension from office as the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, we in APC-PPR wish to state as follows:

 1. That until the report of investigation on the aforementioned allegations explicitly implicates Dr. Betta Edu of wrongdoing, we shall presume that she is innocent of all accusations.

2. That we shall not directly or indirectly be involved in actions that can likely interfere, obstruct, and (or) in any manner influence the course of the ongoing investigation against the precepts of justice, equity and fair play.

3. That we are good governance advocacy group and shall always support probity so long as the rules are fairly applied in consonant with enabling laws, without prejudice, breach of human rights, and the rule of law.

4. That we appeal to the federal government to accelerate the process of investigation into the matter of Dr. Betta Edu with a view of making public the findings to end the current circles of accusations and counter accusations amongst those in sympathy of the suspended Minister and those with views at variance.

5. That the federal government should kindly reinstate Dr. Betta Edu to continue her humanitarian services to the people if she has come clean on all allegations levelled against her.

6. That our members are encouraged to give support to EFCC and related establishments saddled with the responsibilities of strengthening democracy and promotion of good governance.

7. That public servants and opinion leaders in the country should be responsible, accountable and strong enough to accept constructive criticism.
