A DAY TO CHERISH: OGUNLEYE CELEBRATES CHILDREN'S DAY.

St. James Anglican Primary School in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, witnessed a fantastic celebration on Monday, May 27th, 2024, as the children of Ikenne Local Government Area rejoiced in grand style for Children's Day.
The Executive Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye, expressed his immense joy and happiness for this year's Children's Day celebration, emphasizing the significance of honoring the innocence, boundless potential, and creativity inherent in every child.
He highlighted the global importance of Children's Day as a day dedicated to cherishing the young minds that will shape our future and bring joy to our lives and communities.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by millions of children worldwide, including poverty and violence, Hon. Ogunleye stressed the importance of advocating for their rights and needs.He extended sincere appreciation to all teachers in Ikenne Local Government and Ogun State for their dedication to providing quality education, recognizing education as the greatest legacy we can offer our children.
Mr. Olusesan Odumusi, the Executive Secretary of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) in Ikenne LG, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the importance of nurturing children as the builders of tomorrow and promoting unity essential for the nation's survival.
Com. Oyefeso Akinbowale, Chairman of AOPSHON, expressed gratitude to all attendees for contributing to the success of the occasion.
In an interview with OGTV, Hon. Bolanle Fakoya, Vice Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, lauded the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his various developmental programs. She underscored the event's role in providing an entertaining environment for children and teachers alike.
The event featured activities such as a march past by voluntary organizations like Man 'O' War and Boys Brigade, involving all public primary schools in Ikenne Local Government. Wesley Primary School, Iperu Remo, clinched the first position, followed by Ansarudeen Primary School, Ikenne Remo in second position and St. James Primary School, Iperu Remo, in third position respectively. Cultural dances, Eyo traditional display and Choreography also added to the festivities.
Among the dignitaries present were Mr. Rotimi Osinowo, Secretary to the Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Ademola Kazeem Awosipe, Supervisor for Primary Health Care, Hon. Kehinde Ogunnubi, Supervisor for Works and Housing, Alhaja Fausat Adeyiga, Adviser for Community and Social Welfare Department, as well as Hon. Kola Odusanya, Member of Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board and Hon. Bisi Adesina, Chairman Board of Directors, Ikeja Airport alongside teachers, students, and many others.
