LAGOS FLAGS OFF HPV IMMUNIZATION PROGRAMME
First Lady of the State, Doctor Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has flagged off the Human Papillomavirus Vaccine, HPV, Immunization programme for girls from aged nine to fourteen years across the state. Sanwo-Olu, while flagging off the ceremony at Surulere Local Government, said the state remained committed to taking a proactive stance in promoting the overall health and well-being of Lagosians. The First Lady who said the vaccine would be administered to citizens free in all medical facilities across the state, urged parents to avail their daughters of the vaccination. The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Doctor Ibrahim Mustafa, assured that the vaccine was safe as it has been tested in other parts of the world with tremendous results. Mustafa, who noted that the vaccine would also prevent the incidents of cancer and deaths in women, charged parents to ensure that their daughters get vaccinated.
